30 Family Fall Social Distancing Activities

by Rebecca Eanes

Football games, fall festivals, hay rides, trick-or-treating - it’s that time of year again! Not this year, though!  It seems that COVID-19 will continue to interrupt our favorite activities for another season. Happily, there is still plenty of family fun to be had while we stay six feet from others! I’ve put together 30 family activities to enjoy this autumn. Stay safe and have fun. Cepbahis

Indoor Activities

  • Work on a puzzle together. Pick up a fall-themed puzzle like this one, and spend those dreary, rainy days gathered around the table putting it together.
  • Carve jack-o’-lanterns, or paint them. It’s a fall tradition that can live on even in this pandemic. Little kids will enjoy painting their pumpkins while the older ones can carve theirs up for some great fall fun.
  • Try leaf painting. This is a great, creative activity for kids. Head over The Best Ideas for Kids to see some ideas for painting leaves.
  • Make paper plate scarecrows. DLTK has a great template for a paper plate scarecrow, or you can just gather the materials and eyeball it. It’s really cute for toddlers and preschoolers.
  • Make caramel apples. These sure look delicious! Here is a recipe that looks simple enough to do with the family.
  • Toast pumpkin seeds. You have to do something with those seeds you acquired when you carved up the pumpkins, don’t you? May as well enjoy a tasty treat, like these cinnamon sugar seeds.
