Ideas for an Epic End of Summer Pool Party

 Food and Drinks:

1. Walking Tacos – Make these in a carry-around bag of Fritos! You’ll need fried taco meat, whatever taco additions you’d like such as lettuce, tomato, cheese, and sour cream, and enough snack sized bags of Fritos to go around. Instruct kids to pop open and bag of Fritos, add taco meat and their preferred ingredients, and mix!

2. Build Your Own Hotdog Bar – Prepare plenty of bun-and-wiener-only hot dogs and sit alongside a toppings bar with chili, relish, slaw, mustard, BBQ sauce, onions, and jalapenos.

3. Pool Noodle Licorice – Here’s a super easy snack. Buy multicolored licorice and stand them up in a small sand pail labeled “pool noodles.”

4. Pool Water Punch – Simply mix lemonade with blue Hawaiian Punch for a hysterical drink the kids will love. Just label it “pool water.”

5. Jell-O Shark Cups – Prepare 1 box of blue Jello in clear plastic cups. Cut out construction paper shark fins and tape to plastic spoons. Place the spoon in the Jell-O so the shark fin sticks out and add a layer of whip cream around the fin.

6. Croissant Crabs – Fill croissants with your choice of deli meat, chicken salad, or combination salad. Glue googly eyes onto toothpicks and place two crab eyes in each croissant.

Decorations:

1. Noodle Garland – For this fun decoration, buy pool noodles in your favorite colors and cut them into 1 to 2 inch circles. String them on long pieces of yarn and hang them up!

2. Rubber Flip Flop Garland – This is another cute and easy decoration. Get a bunch of cheap rubber flip flops and string them on yarn, alternating colors to make it fun!

3. Balloons in the Pool – This is sure to invite the kids to jump right in! Throw in plenty of blown up balloons which will float on top of the water. You can also sink helium-filled balloons at varying depths by tying heavy washers to the string.

4. Pool Noodle Flowers – Pool noodles come in various shapes, and your local dollar store will probably have flower-shaped noodles. Simply take a knife and cut it up and toss the flower-shaped pieces in the pool.

5. Beach Ball Path – Show your guests the way by lining a path to the pool with beach balls.
