Life Dice Conversation Cubes – a family dinner game to get your conversations rolling

Do your kids talk to you over dinner? Put the control in their hands and they will!

Some kids are motor-mouths and never stop talking. Be grateful, because with other kids - especially the older ones - getting them to talk about their day is like pulling teeth. Life Dice was designed to help these kids. By turning the conversation into a game, they become less self-conscious so they can open up and tell you what is going on in their lives.

For many families, dinner time is the only time everyone sits down together. That's why Life Dice is designed to be played at the dinner table, but it can also be used at bedtime, or any time you want to have meaningful interactions with your kids.  It consists of two wooden dice - one has six meaningful questions, and the other tells the player how to answer in one of six quirky ways. Because each player gets to roll for him or herself, it gives them a sense of control. It isn't Mom or Dad asking the question, it is the dice they rolled themselves! Then the funny way of answering takes the focus off of the player and puts it onto the silliness of the game.

The six questions were chosen, not just to get them talking, but to encourage them, over time, to think about the choices they make every day.

The six questions are:
What is the best thing that happened to me today?
What am I grateful for today?
What was challenging for me today?
Whose heart did I cheer today?
How was I of service today?
What did I learn today?

The six ways to answer are:
Whisper your answer.
Stand up to answer.
Sing or chant your answer.
Close your eyes to answer.
Choose someone to answer.
Answer graciously.

Whether you play once a night or once a week, Life Dice will improve your child's communication skills, and help the whole family feel more connected.
