Have a Plan
Your plan is part two of the mission statement. It lays out in detail how you plan to achieve what you’ve written down as goals, intentions, and dreams. How will you teach your child responsibility? What will you do when your child makes a poor choice? How will you teach emotions regulation skills or foster a positive relationship between siblings? If it’s important to you, it should have a plan of action. Having a plan keeps you knee-jerk reactions and helps you be a consistent parent.
Purposeful parenting is a daily choice of teaching with intention, creating happy memories, connecting deeply, and loving well. We all have days where we miss the mark, and that’s okay! The good news is that, because it’s a daily choice, tomorrow is full of possibilities.
