40 Wintertime Family Bucket List Activities

24. Want to challenge your snow building skills? Go for a fort or an igloo!

25. Construct an indoor obstacle course with cushions, pillows, and chairs.

26. Bake and decorate Christmas cookies.

27. Paint the snow! Fill squirt bottles with food coloring and water and make colorful creations in the fresh snow.

28. Cook popcorn on the stove. For an extra treat, add nuts, chocolate chips, or chocolate-covered candies.

29. Make a countdown to Christmas or a countdown to spring paper chain. Remove a link every day.

30. Play classic board games like Sorry, Candyland, or Monopoly.

31. Visit Santa at the mall.

32. Read Christmas and winter-themed books to the kids.

33. Go on a winter picnic. Take hot soup in a thermos, sandwiches, and plenty of blankets.

34. Make Santa footprints for Christmas morning!

  • Supplies: baking soda or flour and glitter.
  • Dip a large shoe and make footprints where Santa was!

35. Make puffy snow paint by mixing equal parts glue and shaving cream. Paint snowmen on black construction paper.

36. Blow bubbles outside on freezing days and watch them turn into ice bubbles!

37. Teach your kids to knit. If you don't know how, it's fun to learn together. Try to make mittens!

38. Make a Christmas Eve gift for the kids to open a little early. Fill with new pajamas, a Christmas book, and packets of hot chocolate.

39. Give to a child in need. Let your little ones pick out the gift, or pack a box together for Operation Christmas Child.

40. Go on a winter scavenger hunt!

  • Make up a list for each member to mark off.
  • Some ideas for your list: icicles, pine cones, and red berries.
