Some of my favorite ornaments on my Christmas tree are the wish list ornaments my kids make every year. I love looking back at what they wanted for Christmas years ago, and these ornaments will only become more and more special to me as the years pass. Here's what you need to make your own wish list keepsake ornament, a great family tradition you can begin this year!
 

Supplies:

• Clear glass or plastic ornaments from a craft store such as Michael's
• Epsom salt
• Small paper and pen

Directions:

1. Simply write your child's wish list on the small paper, or if your child is old enough, let him or her write the list.
2. Using a funnel, pour Epsom salt into the ornament - just enough to cover the bottom well.
3. Roll up your list and push it through the hole into the ornament.
4. Getting the list unrolled once inside takes a bit of finesse, but the eraser end of a pencil is helpful.
5. Once the list is in place, put the top on the ornament.
6. Use craft stickers, glitter glue or use a permanent marker to write your child's name and the year.

If you're pressed for time or don't feel too crafty, you can use premade gift tags, holiday stickers or any adorable craft supplies from your favorite craft store. Decorative embellishments are a great substitute for a full DIY project. But it might be more fun to make your own!
